APC Denies Reports of Buni’s Removal, Governor Sani Bello Parks Car at APC Secretariat

The ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), has rejected claims of Yobe State Governor, Mala Buni, being removed as the interim national chairman.

There were rumors that Buni was dismissed with the endorsement of President Muhammadu Buhari, who then named Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello, as his replacement.

However, the APC has refuted these reports.

APC’s interim secretary, John Akpanudoedehe, stated, “The APC is a progressive political party guided by rules. Leadership changes are not announced by ‘sources’ through name dropping in the media.”

“We urge our teeming supporters, members and indeed the general public to remain calm and support the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led APC CECPC conduct a rancour-free and credible National Convention deserving of our great party,” he added.

Despite the statement, Governor Sani Bello arrived at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday, March 7, and parked his car in the chairman’s spot.

Bello is currently leading a meeting of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) and State chairmen of the party.
