Kidnapped Nasarawa LG chairman regains freedom

The chairman of Keffi Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, Muhammad Shehu-Baba, and his aide, Tanimu Mohammed, have been released from captivity. They were kidnapped by gunmen on Keffi-Akwanga road and their police orderly, Alhassan Habib, was killed in the incident. The spokesperson for the state police command, ASP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed their release and mentioned that three suspects were arrested in connection with the crime. These suspects were apprehended while negotiating for ransom and were from Kaduna State. However, Nansel stated that the police were not aware of any ransom being paid, and the victims were released due to sustained pressure from security agencies. In the meantime, Nasarawa State governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, visited the injured chairman at Jamaa Medical Centre in Keffi to offer his support.
