Air Force jets reportedly bombs Katsina community by mistake

The accidental bombing of Kunkuna village in Katsina State by Nigeria Air Force jets has resulted in fatalities and injuries. The incident occurred around 11:00 pm on Tuesday, July 5, shortly after an attack on President Muhammadu Buhari’s advance team convoy along the Dutsinma-Yantumaki road.

The proximity of Dutsinma to Safana council area allows the terrorists operating there to seek refuge in Safana, particularly within the Zakka forest, which stretches into Zamfara state. Reports indicate that these forests serve as hideouts for the terrorists.

According to Daily Trust, the jets mistakenly targeted the wrong sites while carrying out an operation against bandit camps in the area. Sources revealed that numerous villagers lost their lives, and many others sustained injuries as a result of the bomb explosions, which also led to the destruction of numerous homes.
