Man remanded in Oyo court for killing woman with pestle

A 50-year-old man, Fatai Gbeminiyi, has been ordered to be remanded at the Abolongo Correctional Centre, Oyo Town, for the killing of a woman by an Iyaganku magistrates’ court in Ibadan on Monday, August 29.

The court heard from the prosecutor, Insp Iyabo Oladoyin, that Gbeminiyi unlawfully caused the death of 39-year-old Tinuke Olayiwola on August 20.

It was revealed that Gbeminiyi clubbed Tinuke to death at the Abebi area of Ibadan using a pestle during a fight.

The accused did not enter a plea, and the Magistrate, Emmanuel Idowu, ordered that he be held at the correctional facility pending advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP). The case was adjourned to October 27.
