Governor Alia’s inability to probe me, says Ortom
In a recent development, Samuel Ortom, the former governor of Benue State, has emphasized that Governor Hyacinth Alia's administration lacks justification to initiate a probe against him.
Back in February, Alia established two separate panels to conduct investigations into the financial management and assets of the state during Ortom's previous tenure.
Ortom presented his stance through an ex-parte motion filed at the Makurdi High Court under the jurisdiction of Justice T. Asua. This motion sought to restrain the Commission of Inquiry from examining the funds (both income and expenditures) of the Benue State Government between May 29th, 2015 and May 28th, 2023, until a proper hearing and verdict on the motion.
