Engagement between Nigerian troops and criminals in Imo State results in casualties
Nigerian troops of Operation UDO KA in Imo State engaged in a gun battle with criminal elements, resulting in the death of two individuals and injuries to others.
In a statement released on Saturday by Lieutenant Colonel for Joint Task Force Operation UDO KA, it was reported that one kidnapper was fatally shot at Umuaka in Njaba Local Government Area of the state.
During a routine patrol in Umuaka along Orlu-Owerri road, the troops were alerted to a kidnapping incident and the escape route taken by the kidnappers.
According to the statement, "The troops swiftly pursued the kidnappers and engaged them in a firefight. Despite the attempt by the kidnappers to use passers-by as a shield, the troops managed to neutralize one kidnapper and wound two others."
