66-year-old Briton dies of COVID-19 in Lagos

The unfortunate demise of a 66-year-old Briton due to COVID-19 in Lagos has been reported as the third death in the state since the onset of the Coronavirus Pandemic. Professor Akin Abayomi, the state Commissioner of Health, confirmed the news, revealing that the deceased individual had traveled from India to Dubai and then to Lagos on March 17th. The announcement was made alongside the disclosure of 10 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Lagos, bringing the total count to 130, as of April 7, 2020. Furthermore, one more COVID-19 patient has thankfully been discharged after a full recovery, making the number of discharged patients 32.

The first case of death due to Coronavirus in Lagos was a 55-year-old man at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, followed by the unfortunate demise of a 36-year-old Nigerian man in a private facility in Lagos on Saturday, April 4. Presently, Lagos has 130 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
