5,139 New Students Matriculated at AE-FUNAI


For the 2023-2024 academic year, Alex Ekweme Federal University Ndufu-Alike lkwo in Ebonyi State welcomed 5,139 new students during matriculation. Among them, there are 2,364 males and 2,775 females.

During the ceremony, Professor Sunday Elom, the Vice Chancellor, delivered a speech cautioning the new students against engaging in social vices like prostitution and cultism, emphasizing that such actions could result in expulsion from the institution.

Professor Elom stressed the importance of focusing on academic goals and avoiding distractions, stating, “We do not tolerate cultism, exam fraud, substance abuse, campus prostitution, immoral behavior, or disobedience on campus.”

He reiterated the consequences of such misconduct, highlighting the university’s commitment to maintaining a conducive learning environment.

Addressing the students’ well-being, Professor Elom encouraged them to report any instances of harassment or misconduct and assured them of prompt action.

Noting the competitive admission process, he commended the freshmen for their achievements and reminded them of the responsibility to uphold good conduct and academic performance throughout their tenure at the university.

Professor Elom also mentioned efforts to address accommodation challenges and affirmed the administration’s dedication to enhancing student welfare.
