300 bags of fertilizer stolen, three suspects apprehended

Law enforcement officers from the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended three individuals suspected of burglary and theft of fertilizer from warehouses in the Iganmu area.

The arrested suspects, Banjo Adeleke (57), James Dalex (52), and Haladu Junaidu (52), were taken into custody following an investigation prompted by a robbery complaint filed by the Chief Security Officer of Flour Mills. The investigation uncovered an internal collaboration in the crime.

The state’s police spokesperson, DSP Bala Elkana, disclosed that the warehouse’s security guard was promptly arrested and brought in for interrogation.

He stated;

“The investigation led to the recovery of the stolen fertilizer bags from a warehouse at Daleko market, Mushin. These bags had been sold to buyers from Kano State at N4,000 per bag.”

“The suspects were in the process of transporting the goods when law enforcement officers raided the market. The truck used for the transportation was seized and the three suspects involved in the illegal transaction were apprehended.”

A total of 300 stolen fertilizer bags were confiscated from the suspects, and the case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti.
