President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Victor Osimhen, Asisat Oshoala, and Chiamaka Nnadozie for their outstanding achievements at the 2023 CAF Awards. Tinubu praised Osimhen for winning the CAF 2023 Men’s Player of the Year award, while also celebrating Oshoala’s sixth win as the 2023 CAF Women’s Player of The Year and Nnadozie’s recognition as the Woman Goalkeeper of the Year. The President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, shared Tinubu’s sentiments in a statement on Tuesday.
Tinubu commended the trio for their remarkable performances on both national and international stages and acknowledged their roles as sources of pride and inspiration for aspiring footballers across the continent. He emphasized the belief that with hard work, perseverance, and divine assistance, Nigeria has the potential for greatness within its reach.
The President also lauded Victor and Asisat for acknowledging their humble beginnings and the influence of indigenous coaches in shaping their careers. He expressed his hopes for their continued success and fulfillment of their footballing dreams. Osimhen’s victory as the 2023 CAF Men’s Player of the Year was announced on Monday.
