18 suspected cases of coronavirus identified in Nigeria – NCDC

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), a total of 18 suspected cases of coronavirus have been identified in Nigeria. In its fifth national situation report, the NCDC disclosed that there have been no new confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country. The 18 individuals identified as suspected cases are located in Lagos, Ogun, Kano, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as of March 4, 2020.

It was reported that 78 out of 148 passengers who were on the same flight as the Italian man confirmed to have the virus have been interviewed.

The NCDC stated that the confirmed case is in stable condition at the designated treatment facility for COVID-19 at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) in Yaba, Lagos. The report also mentioned the activation of a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC) at Level Three, which continues to coordinate the national response activities.
