12 US-Made Missiles Targeting Crimea Bridge Repelled by Russia

A recent statement from Russia reveals that they successfully repelled an attack involving 12 US-made missiles targeting the iconic Crimea bridge. The bridge, constructed under the orders of President Vladimir Putin following the annexation of Crimea by Moscow, was the intended target of the missiles.

The defense ministry confirmed that air defenses were utilized to intercept the ATACMS missiles, resulting in the destruction of all 12 projectiles during the night assault.

The Crimea bridge, which was inaugurated in 2018 and links Kerch in Crimea with Russia’s Krasnodar region, serves as a vital connection.

Since the commencement of Moscow’s military campaign in February 2022, Kyiv has made numerous attempts to target the Kerch Bridge through attacks and thwarted assaults.

Additionally, Russia’s defense ministry announced the successful neutralization of five naval drones en route to Crimea by helicopters in the Black Sea earlier on the same day.

In a related development, the Kremlin issued a warning to the United States about the “consequences” after alleging that a US missile strike, facilitated by Ukraine, led to the death of four individuals in Sevastopol, Crimea. This prompted the summoning of the US ambassador by Moscow in June.
