In connection to the bombing incident at Tudun Biri in Kaduna State, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj-Gen. Edward Buba, reported that a total of 12 Nigerian Army personnel are currently undergoing a court martial process.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Thursday, Buba highlighted the ongoing operations of the Armed Forces and revealed the developments regarding the case.

The tragic event occurred on Dec. 3, 2023, when military drone attacks resulted in the accidental deaths of 85 civilians in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Addressing the issue, Buba emphasized the military’s commitment to holding accountable any personnel responsible for the Dec. 3 incident. He mentioned that a thorough investigation had been carried out, leading to the decision to ensure that those involved faced the legal consequences for the sake of justice for the victims.

Stating the military’s stance, Buba expressed, “An exhaustive investigation has been conducted, and appropriate disciplinary measures have been taken against the individuals implicated in the incident.”

He further added, “As a result, the implicated personnel will be subjected to a court martial for their actions or inactions related to the incident. I am unable to discuss further details due to the pending court martial proceedings, which could be deemed prejudicial.”

Ensuring better precautions in the future, he assured, “The military is committed to implementing enhanced safety measures to protect non-combatants.”
